Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer develops/manages manufacturing processes, improving process quality, and identifying cost reduction initiatives. In addition, the SME works with the functional areas to determine projected cost, lead time, and all expenses associated to quotes received from customers and evaluates potential risks.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Engage with quality/engineering during the bid/proposal to ensure customer designs are manufacturable to current capabilities and tooling to ensure efficient and capable production methods and processes.
  • Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by designing and researching best practices; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing in design and applications, materials, and quality control standards; conferring with vendors, and soliciting observations from a broad range of internal and external team members.
  • Perform qualification tasks and capability development activities for contract manufacturing supplier operations and processes. Coordinate manufacturing startup with suppliers to insure all components and final assemblies achieve critical quality and performance specifications.
  • Manage equipment vendors to determine machine and tooling specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate equipment according to specifications and quality standards to ensure capability for the application.
  • Achieve product profitability goals by completing projects within required time constraints while meeting all quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Constantly be searching for new and innovative was to drive down the total cost of manufacturing.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
  • Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering or 3-5 years related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in bidding/quoting jobs
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High level of technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical thinker.
  • US Person Status REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated knowledge in metal fabrication/machining practices (Carbide, steel alloys, Aluminum alloys, Titanium etc.), conventional and Multi-axis CNC machines, Laser Cutting, Tooling, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, and fixture design.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and experience in various problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Proven Computer-Aided Manufacturing programming experience and the ability to demonstrate G and M code knowledge.
  • Experience transforming 3D models to 2D recognizing all dimensions.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning/Manufacturing Execution Systems (Routing, Costing, Assets, etc.).

Technician: 


The employee must be able to work with automated sander machine, air operated grinders, orbital sanders (DA sanders), deburr tools and assortment of files.

 

  • Able to inspect the work and attention to detail is essential for the success of the task. 
  • Understand of customer requirements and paperwork review (job travelers, drawings).
  • Able to use personal protection equipment including but not limited to face masks, eye and ear protection.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Able to receive and understand AS9100 requirements.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Familiarity with PC software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work with a diverse work force
  • Ability to multi-task and to execute under pressure.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Good Communication skills, problem solving ability and adaptability is preferred
  • US person status or clearance related requirements

Assembler: 

You Are Responsible For
Performs a wide variety of electrical/mechanical product assembly operations on components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Disassembling, modifying, reworking, re-assembling assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
Assist/ perform prototype assembly
Prepares assembly work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and routers.
Must continuously meet/exceed production schedules and deadlines according to quality standards.
Maintain logs, paperwork, and forms accurately consistent with company policy and practices.
Other duties as assigned by management.

You Are Responsible For

Quality (QC) Control Inspector: 


  • Inspecting and verifying conformance of incoming parts, in-process material and final products
  • Visually inspecting electronic components and hardware for physical configuration and part marking requirements per specification, customer requirements, AS9100 and internal QMS requirements
  • Performing First Article Inspection of products and subcomponents for first runs and revision changes
  • Assisting with the MRB review and disposition process
  • Supporting Manufacturing, Test, and Design Engineers to find root cause of nonconformities.
  • Inspect for part marking, paint, silk screen
  • Mix epoxy for rubber stamping parts
  • Inspects parts for any flaws 
  • Person must be detail oriented for this function and quick learner.
  • Able to be trained to perform silk screen application.
  • Able to be cross trained at different tasks within the shop, as needed.
  • Able to use personal protection equipment including but not limited to eye protection and face masks when required.
  • Able to receive and understand AS9100 minimum requirements.
  • Must understand and follow drawings/blueprints, parts list (BOM), along with customers and military specifications.
